It's more important to read to your children. Cathy started talking at 9 months. It was heartwarming to hear her in her room pretending to read. She kept repeating do more, do more. I finally figured it was from a Dr Suess book called Put me in the zoo. It pays to read to your children. Literally. She got a National Merit Scholorship.

it's nonfiction, but I like the series C.J. Box wrote about a Wyoming game warden. I also enjoy Clive Cussler, especially The Oregon Files series.

Read all of Joe Pickett until his oldest daughter graduated from college. Made me want to move to Paradise Valley.

"The time It never rained" is maybe the saddest book I have ever read. I was raised on a farm/ranch outside of Muleshoe and remember everyone looking for clouds in a drought year. Bank wasn't loaning money because they didn't want to foreclose on old friends. It brought back a lot of painful memories.

Elmer Kelton is maybe the best Western writer I've ever read. Zane Grey "maybe" the poorest.

I read old Westerns a lot. I have a deal with a book seller at the Bowie Flea Market. I buy the books and then trade them back on a 2 for 1 basis.

In Cold Blood. This is a true story that reads like fiction. They killed the entire family and went on the run. It maded me stop picking up hitchhikers after I read it. I plan to read it again.
