About a month ago I was full length resizing for my .470NE and got a case stuck; unfortunately I found this out by pulling the rim off of the stuck casing and sent it to Hornady and they removed the stuck casing and "polished inside of die body" - I had it back in 2 weeks. Now believe it or not, that was my first stuck casing in 20 years of reloading experience and I was using my own sizing lube of alcohol & lanolin oil. I found it odd at the time how the casing got stuck when the others were doing fine and I had a generous but not overly thick layer of case lube applied by spray at 45* angle to the case mouths from all side... So when the repaired die came in I switched to using Hornady 1 shot lube, with reason being if the it happened again Hornady at least would not be able to blame my sizing lube. Now with one shot lube and the dies fresh back from Hornady I'm 9 cases into resizing and this happens.... Anyone else have issues with stuck cases with Hornady dies?

Have stuck cases in Hornady, RCBS, Redding, and Lee dies.
Lack of lube, a funky piece of brass, the speed at which I ran the ram, the alignment of the stars, God is making me slow down and fix yet another problem. Whatever, it happens.

I have quite a few sets of Hornady dies maybe 20-25 and I don’t think I have ever stuck one in a Hornady. I have stuck two in a RCBS and one in a Lee over 40 years of loading. Did the first 8 cases run smoothly?

I've done it a couple of times even with lube. I've tried to remove the stuck brass with no success and, if I could, I doubt that I would trust it. I buy new ones.

Did you try taking the nut off and seeing if you can tap the decapper/expander pin down a little to break it loose. It’s worth a try before sending it out again. At $4/round I would be upset at this point. Good luck.

I have used Lanolin and Alcohol for 25 years. One thing I noticed is that if I let it dry too long the cases start dragging. Not sure why but I noticed this recently on some .223. I may have let the alcohol evaporate off too much in the bottle and since I had not used it in over a year it may have gone on thick. I added some alcohol back in and it seemed to help. On nice brass (Weatherby calibers ) I have switched to Imperial sizing wax if I am expecting some difficulty. I previously bought some machine gun fired .308 and found that Mobil One worked better than everything else. I ran 500 pieces over a couple days and never stuck one. RCBS dies BTW.

I've been reloading for about 3-4ish years and I've had about 6-8 stuck cases and all were Hornady dies. Btw, most of my dies are Hornday with a couple rcbs. But I doubt it was the die and pretty sure it was me. Case lubing was definitely one of things I screwed up and since I stick to One Shot being used according to recommendations. Haven't had a stuck case yet but i now learned to clean the die more often because i started to dimple some brass.

I always use carbide dies for pistols, no lube required and never a stuck case. I also use Redding sizing wax for rifle cases very light coat and never had a stuck case.. Just lube one at a time as I run it through the sizing die

Imperial sizing wax or Hornady Unique are the ticket if you're full sizing or bumping back shoulders, IMO. It's far superior to the spray stuff.

Have a few Hornady die sets. I have been loading for about 20 years, used a combo of RCBS lube pad and now use 1-shot. Never had a stuck case.
If the first one went smooth and the rest got worse till the one stuck then i think you arent using enough lube.

40ish years of using RCBS case lube and dies from about everybody and never a stuck case. Seems like whenever I read about a stuck case, the lube used is Hornady One Shot. Maybe, just maybe, the issue is the Hornady lube, not the die.
Last year one of the tennis kids brought me a die with a stuck case. Hornady One Shot.
The RCBS case lube is cheap, and a small bottle lasts forever. And, I just don’t see the logic or money savings with making home made lubes either.

Yes I have stuck cases in the die. RCBS and Hornady. In each instance it was user error, me not applying enough case lube. Get you a stuck case remover. I have the kit from RCBS and it works fine as long as I utter enough profanity at the stuck case...
Edit to add: In each instance I was complacent and in a hurry. I felt too much resistance on the way into the die but it was too late. I pay more attention on the downstroke now and have not stuck one in quite some time. I sure hope saying that is not bad juju.

I go thru at least 6-8 cans of One Shot each year maybe more I don’t really keep up.I do know I have used 3 cans the last couple months because there were 3 empties when I dumped the trash can from the loading room today.
My first stuck die was with Imperial sizing wax so all products can work or fail with equal opportunities from operator

Ok I am going to tell you how to get the case out. Find a socket that will fit over the case and sit on the die. Either run a tap in the case where you can tighten a bolt down on the socket or get a metal screw that you can tighten down on the socket. Now put the die in your freezer for a hour. While you are waiting get a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the die with. After taking the die out heat it with what ever device you got to do the heating. Make sure the bolt/screw is down tight and after heating the die for a minute or so tighten the screw/bolt. Usually they come right out. I have probably gotten 40 or 50 cases out like this for my reloading buddies and myself. I load a lot of military 223 cases and they are bad about sticking. Oh yeah you need to remove the primer pin/neck resizer before you do this
