Yes I know. I had been thrashing around moving stuff. I should have rested a bit. My resting is usually around 70.

Foolish to do this on your own cold turkey based on a single event that may or may not be related to your BP meds. Some BP meds are dangerous to stop suddenly and could put you at high risk of stroke. Whatever you were on could also have been prescribed for reasons other than your BP like heart rhythm issues. No way to know what problems you may have under exertion or stress while off your meds. Stopping some meds it could be weeks before your problems return. See the doc and find out why you had that event. I don't know how many people during my career we took to the hospital when asked about meds said they had stopped taking them weeks to months before because they didn't think they needed them anymore, but it would be in the 100s.

Call your doc!! I hit the same low BP and he dropped one of my meds and the BP stabilized at 120/82, he prefers the lower number in the 70s but at 300+# I think I can keep kicking. Be careful BP is a killer.

You won't get rid of the meds, those will always be there. Sounds like you need a different combination or dosage of meds. Quitting them is extreme for your body, you should have halfed the dosage and made an appointment with your cardiologist.. if your back up to 130/80 it will keep creeping up until it is a problem again.

The wife was in the 80/50 range, cut the dosage in half then seen her PCP who agreed with the dosage reduction and now she is back to 110/70.

I played with not taking bp meds off and on for years.. its not a game, I can promise you that.

Sorry if I missed it in the thread, but what’s the medication name?

I’m not going to the doc until the pandemic is over. I have an appointment for November 5. It’ll be over then.

Want to bet? $500 it won't be gone. If anything it will be more widespread. Come on Cast, put your money where your mouth is. 5 Benji's, you in?

An arb blocker and a beta blocker. The arb blocks your angiotensin hormone and the beta blocks the epinephrine hormone aka adrenaline. The beta blocker is one that can cause a heart attack or stroke by stopping it suddenly. You can google the rest. FYI, I take a beta blocker.

I can’t believe I’m hurting myself. I’m alert, my appetite has returned, my legs are much stronger, the dizzyness is all but gone, I can stand and walk with confidence and my BP is stabilizing right around 120/80 which is the target BP.

I’m calling doc first thing tomorrow and snag the next appointment. They tell us that loosing weight is the only cure for high BP. I’ve lost a little over 200lbs over the past several years and been waiting for the magic. Maybe it finally kicked in.

Wow, 200lb weight loss is an outstanding accomplishment, kudos. My doc say's most of my problems would lessen if I dropped the weight. Problem is that I keep having foot, back, knee, whatever , problems that derail any exercise routine.

It’s been 36 hours now and BP has slowly crept up and heart rate has gone down. This morning I feel pretty good and I’m looking at 101/65 &73. Still a little low.

Now I don’t know if this ever happens, but it may be that my lifestyle has changed for the better over the 3+ years that I’ve been retired to enable this, but I have shed enormous job related stress and crushing responsibilities by leaving a job I absolutely grew to hate.

I’ll be watching my BP closely now, at least until it stabilizes. No more meds would be great.

Y’all be aware of BP crashes. Symptoms for me included severe light headedness, nausea and vision anomalies. I saw black blobs, contrast flares, and tunnel vision. If you get these symptoms, you’re seconds from passing out.

majority of meds come from china. Its all about selling pills. I took my kid in for a physical and they did blood work. They came back with the doom and gloom and he needed to get on meds, hes 17. Said he had a terrible diet which was the cause. I said no he doesnt have a bad diet and does not eat fried food, no sodas and eat pretty much everything healthy. I took him for a retest and all was clear. trout

They were also pushing years of vaccines for a STD Ive never heard of, but just in case he gets it. Its all a scam

You need to see the doctor anyway. Some versions of Valsartan have been recalled in the US due to cancer risk due to impurities. My Dad's doctor switched him to a different medicine.

meds are not " all a scam" Just like doctors are not the enemy. A well informed patient is the smart patient.

Cast --- obviously you've done things right. Kudos. It is strange that your HR was higher on the Bisoprolol. I was set to give some long response but not this time. Your blood pressure issues are not the same as 99.99% of those that suffer from hypertension. The early onset is a whole different animal.

I would recommend keeping complete records several times a day and at least once a day do orthostatic blood pressure measurement. See your doctor sooner than later or at least do a teleconference and show him your records and tell him your pre and post symptoms. Get his blessing for your plan. That's the smart thing to do. Congrats on listening to your body.

BTW, how old RU?

A couple things stand out, as your THF medical advisor.

Your BP sounds solid.

1. Battling BP since 18, seems young.

2. 200 pound weight loss. Same medication?

I think your doing the right thing. Documenting results and have an appt set.
I would get in sooner, if you could.

Why would you want to quite your blood pressure meds? Back in March, they thought that ACE inhibitors increased your susceptibility to SARS 2, but I think they have changed their mind now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't heard anything new about that in quite a while.

I had many of those same symptoms Cast, turns out my dosage was too high. I had the doc write a new scrip for half the dosage and the lightheadedness and dizziness have gone away. Check myself periodically at home and maintain 110/72. I m good with that.
