What do you take for Ragweed/Allergy medicine. I used to take Chlor-Trimeton, but they no longer make it so I have been taking Chlorophen 12 for the last couple of years. I also get a shot but I haven`t taken the time to get one this year. I spent half a day shredding at my lease yesterday and most of it was ragweed. I wore a mask and it helped , but my eyes are killing me today. I take Alaway eye drops for that and it has helped.

I take a knockoff of Zyrtec twice a day and get a steroid shot when it gets real bad. My allergies come mainly from mountain cedar. My doc said I need to switch meds every once in a while for better results.

Generic loratadine helps. Benadryl works but makes me drowsy all day. I use to suffer horribly from it,almost to the point of being hospitalized, but my symptoms have become milder the last few years. If you can avoid going outside on windy, high pollen count days that helps tremendously. Although I do realize that is not an option for some people. Keep your house and car windows closed, run the A/C with good filters on it.

I get both ragweed and cedar. After a lot of experimenting, my allergist finally settled on a combination of Flonase, Allegra, and Azelastine. I use an eye drop with ketotefin in it, and they really helps with the eye irritation. This combo works pretty well. I still have bad days, but they are much less frequent.

I rotate Zyrtec, Allegra and Claritin. Sometimes taking both zyrtec and claritin at the same time when its really bad. I also use the Naphcon-a antihistamine eye drops.

I had the worst Ragweed allergy than you could have! I had a hard time sitting in a blind or up a tree during bow season without coughing and sneezing and everything that makes a person miserable. It was so bad I had to actually get out of the tree and go sit in my truck with the windows up during prime time and watch the deer moving around me from inside my truck. What I finally did about ten years ago is start taking Vitamin C, and that is everyday without fail, 365 days a year and my allergies went away! I don't have to buy over the counter meds that don't work, and I haven't had a cold since I started taking the Vitamin C. I've preached this to people I know and they are astonished that it actually worked. You have to stay with it and not stop just because you feel better! How fast it works, I couldn't say as everyone is different, but it will take longer the longer you wait!

I have to mix allergy meds - ragweed usually hits me hard this time of year, but I’ve been shredding some 4-5’ tall goat weeds and they’re lighting me up. Allegra, xyzol, and Zyrtec rotated with 2 medrol when those don’t touch it have kept things under control.
