So I just ordered my first crossbow. It’s rated up to 415 feet. Realistically I expected to shoot somewhere around 400. What broadheads are y’all using that fly good at those speeds?

I have the same situation and same question. A lot of people have told me mechanicals for xbow, but not everyone.

That’s what I’m thinking. I’ve been out of bow hunting because of heart problems for 12 yrs. I know when I cranked my bow above 300fps I got erratic broad head flight.

That was the thought process from the pro mechanical guys—but I’m a bow novice. I like to keep it simple though and hate any moving parts.

For mechanical I've had good luck with swhacker.
Fixed i shoot muzzy trocar.
I use the 100 grain swhacker

At those speeds unless the bow is tuned perfectly go with mechanical made for crossbow. A friend that hunts with one rated at 470 and with his heavier bolts gets 440 across the chrono. His wife killed a buck last year out a bedroom window at 60 yards, it ran about 30 yards.

The Wifes 400fps rated bow shoots both broad heads mine at 330 shoots well, Rage 125gr and Montech 125 gr heads..

On the mechanicak go with those rated for crossbows

I'm a Muzzy 3 Blade Trocar tip and Slick Trick fan. I shoot 125 gr at 400 fps. After a few bad experiences with mechanicals, I only shoot fixed broad heads.

I keep hearing the "Muzzy 3 Blade Trocar" referenced for fixed. I looked but Cabelas was out.

I'm trying a new one this year, Thorn broadheads. Interesting concept. Wish they were a little cheaper.

I've used 125 grain Rage Hypodermic with my crossbow and it's been devastating (to the deer). I've heard good things about using 150 grain Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts in a crossbow but haven't personally tried it.

125 grain Rage Hypodermic NC is the way to go.

Watched the wife run a 125gr Rage Hyperdermic through a small buck this morning, Almost center of lung hit and the blood trail was easy to follow but was about 150 yards long The buck ran hard until it fell and slid a few yards.. Shot was 13 yards, broke 2 ribs on each side. Crossbow is Wicked Ridge RDX with the weight of these bolts shooting 370fps. Longest shot at this setup is 30 yards.

What I use on my 410 FPS Barnett Ghost. Has worked great on two deer and two coyotes(at 55 yards)

I've used Rocky Mountain Warheads, NAP Spitfires, Toxic, and some Blackout Expandables. All work. Accuracy is key. Always. None of mine have gone over 50 yards.

Just a FYI: Some broadhead manufacturers have said their Crossbow broadheads are the same as their bow broadheads.

Example, the Rage Cross Bow 2-blades are the same as the 125gr 2-blade for a bow, except the color is orange vs black. The Shock Colar is red on the Crossbow version (Supposed more rigid too (colar)) than the bow version. There has been a bit of reports of the "red" shock colar not allowing the blades to open when it hits it target.

I have both the 125gr bow rage 2-blade and the 125gr crossbow rage 2-blade. I've used BOTH on a cross bow rated at 330 fps and they both work good. I couldn't tell the difference between the two on deer by looking at the wounds.
