I saw these in the TPWD outdoor manual as legal game birds with no season and no limit.

Anyone hunt and eat these?

I could make a killing hunting in the Walmart parking lot with a pellet gun!

Yes, but not the city birds. If you can find them feeding in grain fields, fill your freezer up.

I've done it a few times. If they're eating grain, its just like a big dove. I keep saying I am going to look into some places to hunt them, but never seem to get around to it.

Would a city diet be so bad they’re not fit to eat?

I’ve never seen them anywhere in the wild.

I've eaten them young and old and they're tasty. After eating some adult birds breasted out I regretted not filling the freezer when I've had the chance.

Pan seared rare is the way to go.

Search YT for recipes, there's a few on there that look good.

When I was a kid we shot the stuffing out of them at dairy farms and feed lots.
It's just a big dove and tasty.
