Hey guys, I am in Dallas and want to go deer hunting, but just going for a weekend is cool with me even if I don't get anything. So I'm not looking for a lease or anything. I grew up squirrel and dove hunting but actually have never deer hunted! Was curious if you guys could recommend an affordable outfitter, some of these prices seem really high to me, $3,000+. I don't need a trophy just want to have fun being outside and give it a shot (pun intended). Thanks for any suggestions

It might be tough finding an outfitter for something in that price even for a doe hunt. Might i suggest some local public lands or going on a hog hunt they can be much cheaper. I used to go to a place in centerville. website is hoghunting.com

Kiteman - use the outfitter forum here. The mgmt of this forum won't let bad ones stick around too long. I'd look for a doe hunt, it's much more affordable (like less than $500 typically) and could get your toes wet to see if it's something you like...plus, you'll leave with some good vittles. Good luck!

Maybe start with Hogs? Hunterscreekranchtx.com

It's in Mount Vernon, TX. Just a couple hours east of Dallas. Around $250/day

Bob runs the outfit. Stand up dude and you wont leave empty handed

Bob's number is 903-573-0961. HCR can get you on a deer, too!

God bless John Wayne!

Do you have any friends that hunt? Best bet is to tag along and see if you can shoot a doe, if that is possible. If not, I agree go for a doe hunt somewhere.

If you can’t find anywhere to hunt shoot me a pm in a few weeks, I have a ton of pigs that need blasted for a simple contribution of a few bags of corn.
