When is the best time to hunt the cool/cold fronts for dove...before the front with partly cloudy skies...during the front with heavy clouds and gusty wind...or after the front with cooler temps and bright, sunny skies?

What is your experience?

If it's a strong front with high wind and rain, after it passes. A weaker, dry front can be different tho. It can turn on as it passes.

Neither is a guarantee. What front they decide to move with is not that predictable, but by mid October a good cold snap has the best chances.

All of the above or none of the above. No rhythm or reason, they could show up anytime, or not show up at all. I live on the ranch with sunflower fields around my house and get to witness their patterns...I come to the conclusion many years ago that there is no pattern. They will be coming through, just no way to know when.

If you have the time just go hunt, see what happens.

With this last front at my lease. Two days before the front there were almost no birds, birds showed up the day before the front, then completely disappeared the day of the front and none arrived the day after the front. But I agree with stompy's observation overall. Dove migration can be unpredictable IMO.

You just have to hunt them when they are there. They are the definition of here today gone tomorrow.
