AHHH i’ve actually never seen a copperhead in person until now... we usually let the snakes we see go but with this one being poisonous and so close to our land, he wasn’t going to get that choice.

I've killed 35 so far this year on my place. 13 in one night. Glad to see the cooler weather coming!

You seem to be having a good time like your hog pic, that's good. Nice coloring on that snake and good job of fully separating its head from body before handling.

Had a place near Blanco Tx. years ago and saw and killed quite a few each year. Here in Comal county I have never seen one around.

I go running at cedar ridge preserve sometimes. One time i came to the top of the hill and a boy and his mom stopped me. There was a 3 foot copperhead crossing the path. Made me think twice about watching where i step when i run there now.

Hate those suckers.

Good riddance!

Our rattlesnakes were out Sunday evening ahead of the cold front and my son and I tied with 2 each....but dad wins because I got the two big ones. The 5th one on the fence to the left was one he killed 3 days earlier that was coiled up under the hitch of my JD round baler under one of the barns right next to where he'd been welding all day long!

And, the old german wive's tale of hanging em on the fence to get some rain did NOT work again.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Make sure to bury the head! While it's a rare occurrence, dogs or children may find it and get "bit" even though it's dead.

I don't blame you. The venomous ones have to go on my place too. All others get a pass up

The world is a better place with Lilly Grace threads. My oldest is a 12 year old girl and I sure hope she still has time to hang out at the ranch with me when she’s your age. Stay fun and tough, girl.

My brother lives on Lake Palestine and last year he killed over 80. He has done that for 3 years in a row, this year they are not as bad and there hasn't been a big upswing in varmints like he was expecting. He would ride around just before dark on his golf cart and catch them out on the road. I told him he needed a brush axe instead of a machete.
