Depends on the whiskey IMO.
Some whiskeys need the slow melt ice and cooling.
Really good bourbon needs neither.

Not me. I think most whiskeys are not very good.
And I drink plenty of it.

EC is one of my tops. Buffalo Trace and Four Roses as well. As you can tell I don’t spend a fortune on whiskey. But I’m ok with these.

I've consumed far more than my share of Whisky, nearly always with a cube or two of ice. On a cold day a nice little shot right out of the bottle gets the blood warmed up, about a half a shot in a cup of coffee works well also. There's no wrong way to drink good Whisky. The one thing I never did was add anything sweet like soda's, not saying it wrong just never liked it that way.

I do remember going to hunting camps with you and first light it would be a hot cup of coffee and a nice shot of whiskey.

Depends. Sometimes I like drinking Scotch, Bourbon, or Rye neat in a Glencairn. Other nights, I like drinking it with a large, clear, slow melting ice block in a rocks glass. Really just depends on the whiskey/whisky, my mood, and my current palate.

A group hunt that will go down in THF history, my head hurt for a week after that one. I'm not sure anybody actually went hunting on that trip. I do remember sitting in a tree but I'm not to sure how I got there.

Agreed, unless it’s over 100 degrees outside, I don’t even like ice in my Tea.

This ^^^^^^^^^. All depends on the quality of what you are drinking.

Agreed. Drink it however you like it if you bought it.

The only issue I have if someone pulls out a really good or not so good whiskey out of their freezer and tries to feed it to me.

To be determined

If it's good enough to drink straight, no ice for me. Maybe a little water if it's cask strength. For cocktails, I like to stir with ice, then strain into a glass with a big, clear ice ball, or whiskey stones if I don't have an ice ball.
