I road fed corn and shelled peanut mix on the roads on this ranch to take some photos. Had this fox come out less than 10 minutes after I got into the blind and ate peanuts for 30 minutes. He left that road and crossed over to another one and ate for almost 45 minutes. The deer ate around him and paid no attention to him. The LO told me it is common to see a fox or two eating at each blind location and it has been that way the last 3 yrs of feeding corn/peanut mix on the roads and in the spin feeders. He has seen as many as 3 foxes at the same time a different feeder. I road fed around the backside of a volunteer oats food plot and the turkey ate most of the corn and peanuts up before the deer got there.

Interesting. I've seen coyotes munching on corn a handful of times on the same fed road with deer.

Why the peanuts? Purely bait or does it over some added nutritional benefit?

Peanuts are higher in fat and protein than corn and deer love them. Had a friend that fed them out of his spin feeders back in the 80's and 90's when he could get them cheap. He said there could be acorns covering the ground and he was covered up with deer at his spin feeders.

Then what the hell am I doing feeding corn? Guessing cost, availability and shelf life are factors. Now that I think about it, I have a buddy in Georgia who feeds crunched peanuts in a trough (they don't feral hogs).

It comes with some sticker shock even when you are buying it bulk.....

This coyote did not care for the corn or peanuts earlier that morning at a different blind. I have seen coyotes eat corn many times and have pics of one inside one of my feeders multiple times here.

I have one that eats cicadas in my front yard. A lot of people would shoot them but I enjoy watching them.

Neat photos. Foxes are pretty neat little animals. Seen them eat corn a time or two but never peanuts.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Outstanding pics. It's funny how I want to kill every yote but have no interest in shooting foxes.
