Just got a nice AR 10 in 6.5 CM, can't afford a new scope right now and I have a brand new Nikon Monarch in the safe, so I figure this gun is going to be for hunting deer and hogs from a blind so a traditional scope should work out fine. What rings should I get? I'll post a pic of gun in a few minutes from my phone.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I've used Nikon P-223 mounts on several AR's. Not that expensive and you can turn them forward or back depending on the eye relief you need. To me the only draw back, if you want to call it that, is you have to take the screws out and slide them on.

The American defense recon mount is spectacular and will hold zero if removed.

I use NF, Vortex and Spuhr mounts depending on the gun. haooy with all of them. Price tag on the Spuhr is a little hard to swallow

Between my ADM and my Badger unimount, I prefer the badger. Had larue in the past, worked fine but scored the upper where the QD levers contact.

Seekins MXM unimount is a good consideration!

I have determined I like regular rings (Seekins) for AR10s and the cantilevered for AR15s. Now, if you are wanting 20 MOA, I'd go with the cantilevered. I've got the Larue 20 MOA and don't care for the locking mechanism.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............
