There is plenty remaining to be acquired; the heavy hitter attorneys were still going back and forth on rights and there is still some significant route engineering left to be done

If I were in it's path I would be worried too. The people that owned land where there are now reservoirs were probably worried too. We will hear more about the abuse of eminent domain for public need or economic development in a year or two.

How is that lying about who owns the land? Texas Central bought it and then used it for collateral on a loan. That is exactly how most people buy their homes. There is nothing dishonest or unusual about it.

I don't have a dog in this fight, and don't care much one way or the other, but there doesn't seem to be anything shady about the purchase of the land.
