I'm looking for a new lease for my boys and I to hunt next year (2021). I've been on the same lease for 4 years now in Sutton county but the Anthrax wiped out all the deer. I live just south of Houston so id like to be within 3 - 5 hours. Prefer West or South Texas but would consider anything.

Consider looking at Bee County. Some pretty good deer, lots of hogs and plenty of turkey there and a much better (ie: shorter) drive for you.

If you can't find anything I'd stick with your current place. We had a near 100% die off last year and have already seen a huge recovery

I’m heading there in two weeks to check all my cameras for the first time. I have read a lot of articles about them restocking so I’m hopeful. I really enjoy my current situation when there is deer. I would really like to be closer to home also. I have three teenagers that go with me and it would be nice to be able to just go for the weekend.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
