What kind of money are you wanting to spend? Do you want lodging and meals? They are pretty easy to call up south of Sheffield to the border. Do you just want one ringtail or an all night ringtail/varmint hunt?

Honestly I have never heard of such a thing as a Ring Tail guided hunt. I suspect it would consist of walking from one abandoned deer blind to another until you find one that a Ring Tail calls home. LOL. Im sure someone out there does it but cant say I have ever heard of it.

Here in the U.S. or some place else? I only ask because booking a year in advance for this kind of hunt seems pretty extreme.

I’m guessing he is from Maine, they never see these types of animals so he’s probably wanting a hunt to help further his collection.

Just go across the border to Nuevo Laredo. You can get the armadillo, a frog playing a guitar and something that can be cleared up with a little penicillin.

... Ringtail and gray fox are easily called in when in the area. I've hunted all over central Texas but ringtails are elusive little creatures. I grew up headlighting and trapping for fur during fur bearing season for many years back in the 60s thru the early 90s. I am sure there is someone down in the guide section that does varmint hunts that can get you set up for what you are looking for. pay no attention to the jokers, they are just having fun ...

Dear Mainaic: These guys are laughing because stuff like armadillos are all over the place- you can about step on them. Gray fox if they have nice black markings around the face are really pretty animals. There's a big ear kit fox that looks similar. The ringtail, I've actually never seen one- I thought fur trappers picked up a few now and then. I'd mount one if I got one.

Look for a lease that will let you varmint hunt, then ask around for someone to invite along with you. If you pay the lease, then someone come along. But honestly you won’t need a guide for foxes and armadillos since they’re findable fairly easy if they’re there.....all you need is patience. (If they’re there). I’ve never seen a ringtail.
