Most of those guys couldn't tell a large mouth from a spotted bass much less a house cat from a mountain lion or even better a black panther.

We’ve been getting inundated with them lately.

I made it to the second page before I quit. What kills me about all these wild cat stories is how many folks seem to have seen one but seemingly no one can manage to film/take pictures. (Or a very, very few). With camera phones everyone of these people should have video of these black panthers.

LOL! This is like bigfoot. 2M+ game camera documenting *all* kinds of animals; 10M hunters all over America. Drones, thermals and cell cameras increasingly in use, and the only evidence we can produce is a. a blurry shot likely taken by someone very drunk, b. a random footprint in the middle of nowhere that then turns into a nondescript plaster cast that looks like a turd, or c. a "squatch" recording that's likely the results of the guy from a. stubbing his toe at the campsite.

Show me the dead panther that wasn't chipped by a zoo, show me the dead squatch with a group of smilin' bubbas around it, and I'll believe. In the meantime, "meh"....

I am a member of the Facebook site "Texas Black Panther and Cougar Evidence and Sightings". The true believers of which I am not one, get angry if someone asks them for photographic proof. Since mountain lions do not have the gene to be melanistic and since only one in 25 or less jaguars have the black coloration so people should be seeing tons of regular patterned jaguars if they were that far out of their normal range, I can't accept the stories of black cougars, pumas, mountain lions, or what ever you want to call them being in Texas. I have heard these stories for over 50 years. There are some funny heated arguments on the site and probably every large housecat in Texas has been claimed as a "possible" black panther.

As a joke I posted the picture of the two otters at my deer feeder and even put an emoji of an otter floating on his back to show that I was being facetious but sure enough some people didn't get that it was a joke!
