Since many of us are working from home and seldom get out to see customers like in the past. I may try to work from my deer stand some, like better part of the day. Provided the weather is good/not hot. I get pretty good cell coverage and can teather my phone to my PC, even do VPN from my stand, have done it before. I just have to make sure I can keep phone and PC charged. I could rig up a car battery and a solar panel and spend the better part of the day in a deer stand. Couldn't be much different than working from home.

I have one of those jobs that taking a day of vacation may not mean anything, if something comes up you have to deal with it. I bet I'm not the only one.

Anybody going to be working for a blind this year as opposed to home.

Trying to figure out how to do something similar. Would be great to set up a little table and put my laptop on it with a 12 volt batter and inverter underneath. Would only work on a couple blinds where there is actual cell coverage

I'm allergic to work.

Yep! Already been doing it, as long as I can get cell service I can get things done.

Back in the 90’s I joined a conference call from a tree stand in another state. It went well, and nobody got weird when I mentioned that this was my first conference call while armed.

The main house has good internet and we use google wifi routers to get internet around the ranch. Got a good google mesh network going.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

The first thing I told my wife when I learned my WFH status is extended to at least the end of the year..........."It's going to be a great deer season".

You bet I am.

I bet if you got in the blind with phone and laptop charged. You could make the better part of the day with one of these. Might be all ya need.

Would come in handy with power outages at home too. Might beat dragging out a generator to charge a phone or PC if the power is our for only a little while.

Thanks, Billy

I could definitely work remotely but unfortunately there is only one spot on my place that has cell reception. And there’s no deer traffic there.

My Wife bought a Hot Spot. We go to the country (South of Bowie) where we have a trailer house. She works and I work on tractors, land, have a beer, and shoot. Pretty neat technology. When her work day ends, we go fishing. Beats staying in Hurst.

I've done it....I would just look up and shake my head and chuckle about every 15 minutes the first time I worked from the blind....people on my staff would call me with questions and they'd whisper to me on the phone because they knew where I was...like the deer could hear them...hilarious. Had another guy with our company that was a bird hunter who moved to his lease for the entirety of quail season and worked remote from his hunting bunk house....had one of those cell/wifi towers installed. The owner of our company was a big hunter as well so he blessed it all....I sure miss working there.

I'll be doing exactly this above. Was doing it last Oct, 25 yards from feeder pen in ground blind on my phone with work looking at emails and heard a soft dirt thud. Glanced up and biggest buck I have ever seen on the property had jumped in pen, took 2 steps as I was reaching for bow, jumped out of pen and eased away not presenting any time for a shot. Never saw him again and I hunted hard but did have him on night pics after season. Cell/hot spot work in blinds but not at our camp area. Working in a deer blind has its advantages and disadvantages but I'll take it over working at the office or home
