Everything looks fantastic...…...cept them nasty peas!

Replace them peas with some good old pinto beans and then you have the perfect meal.

My thought is you are light eater or that was a small whitetail that needed another year.

This is one of my favorite parts of hunting, gardening, etc.., the connection to the land and what it can provide. Peas came from a good friends garden, my wife is from Many, Louisiana and her Paw Paw used to grow them. Her great uncles nick name was Peabuck because his job as a boy was to keep the deer out of the pea patch. The milk for the gravy comes from a dairy up in Lindsay, they have a small store with a cash box and no attendant where you can purchase meats, milk cheese, etc... You write down what you buy and make your own change, you know HONOR system. Taters are from my mothers garden in Arkansas. They don't have much money but they always bring us fresh vegetables when they come and visit. The meat is a deer I shot off of my Son in laws family land. Hunting and time outdoors together is the way I learned to trust him enough to let him marry my daughter. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great season and here is to the memories everyone will make this year!!

P.S. He probably could have used another year but he is tender and delicious! I am a big eater and had to fill that plate a couple more times to get my fill of a great meal!
