Looking for suggestions on what ammo to use with my .308 on an elk hunt in Colorado?

Hand load or factory?
If hand loading I would highly suggest Berger VLD bullets.
Factory I would look at a Barnes, Accubond or Hornady ELD X

Hornady ELD-X is the best factory loads that I have used. I was never able to find Barnes in .300 WM, so I can't saying anything positive or negative about them. But, there are three animals on my wall that were single-shot kills using Hornady ELD-X

ElDX or Accu Bond, we found the bergers to be very accurate but out past 750yds we hit some big animals(Red Stag) in the Vitals and ended up having to put 3 shots in them out to 1300 yds to knock them down.

Wow I’ve never had any issues or heard of anyone have issues. Every time animals dropped or went less then 30 yards. Very interesting though
