I was in the garage and found a old blind bag full of various shot size steel shot shells all goose size from the 80's, I don't shoot geese anymore besides I would worry about these shells not going boom. Is there a place I can take these to be safely disposed of?
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

If truly from the 1980s a shotshell collector might want them. Steel shot was not required in Texas until the early 1980s. Those steel remington nitro mags where my first go to non tox shell the year the year after they started building Ray Roberts. All of those first steel shells were hard on shotgun barrels though.

If you need to get rid of them, take them to your local sheriff's office or police station. They will dispose of them for you.

We stopped taking them. We suggest soaking for a few days in a bucket of water and then just trash them.
