Looking to extend our patio roof cover and want to go with glass so we can still get the light in. Had two companies give estimates and one was actually for a poly cover which was much cheaper but not what we want. The other's estimator was not very knowledgeable about connecting to the existing cover. Anyone have a company in mind in the DFW area?

The sample I looked at was over 1/2 in w/10 year hail/break warranty. They use the same thing in Florida pool enclosures.

Tempered glass is a fancy animal

Regal Plastics, Irving. I covered mine in Polygal, it's great. Been up a few years and survived hail and some severe straight line winds that knocked fences down. I built it, and designed it to use these sheets that they cut for me.

When considering glass be sure your insurance company will cover it and at what price. Many insurance companies will not cover that type of glass.

Never heard of a type of glass exclusion.

Also, polygal has a warranty for 10 years.

I like it. You can still see the sky, trees, etc....but it really knocks the temperature down by filtering out the sun.
