Natty Flat BBQ is good, several miles south of I20.

Even if you are eating breakfast, save room for PIE!

Stephenville Hard 8 if you have to pass the Blue Bonnet Cafe.

Get the baked potato with meat. Have them dip the potato in the melted butter before they put the meat on.

Hard 8 is great, if you can make it that far for lunch.

I'll second this. Very good every time I've been there. Right next door to the place with the HUGE rocking chair in the parking lot.

Yep, thats the plan going north. My dad used to take me there back when I was a child.

We'll be heading back from Wichita Falls at noon. I'll check out that Hard 8

Greers in Stephenville is good for a varied menu https://www.greersranchcafe.com/

Not much in Mineral Wells, El Paseo is closed temporarily. Jacksboro has a couple of good burger joints and a cafe.

At I20 head west a few miles to Thurber 2 choices the Smokestack or New York Hill. Either is a good place. If you want to try Mary's in Strawn, it is a little farther, a lot of people rave about their chicken fried steak, but not me.

We hit the Blue Bonnet cafe on the way up, but flew by the hard 8 on the way back. We went to Wichita Falls to pick up a puppy, and it had bad motion sickness. It definitely on the radar next time we are up north. It was packed on the way back down. It must be some good stuff.
