Question regarding objective size...the largest objective size I currently have is 44mm. I have avoided 50mm objectives, in the past, for concerns (possibly unwarranted) about scope mounting height. For guys and gals who have and use 50mm+ objectives, do you find the extra height to be cumbersome in the field - or and issue getting a solid shooting alignment?

I really like this particular scope, but need some advice and input on the objective issue.

I think your concerns are unwarranted. Worst case you use medium rings although some lows might work. I use medium rings on a lot of hunting rifles and never had an issue getting behind the optic. I think too many people get obsessed with the scope as low as possible which sometimes makes bolt clearance tight. That scope has a low CDS turret and is lightweight. Leupold's always have great eye boxes. Should be super easy to get on target quick.

I just mounted a 50mm Leupold Mark 4 on my win mag last night in a set of low nightforce rings, I have no issues with the larger objective in the field as I used to run a 56 mm previous to this and it was mounted in the same rings. My base is a 20 moa rail..

Picture attached for reference.

Buy it. I have a VX6, 50mm and a VX5 HD, 44 mm.

For me, I don't have any problem getting a good sight picture on either and killing what I'm shooting at. However........I prefer the 44. I don't know the exact difference in weight but it is noticeable.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
