Years back I hunted Mexico South Texas. Now I try to hunt close to my house near lake Sam Rayburn. With all the rain East Texas gets tractor work helps to hunting, at least for me it seems to be. East Texas can grow like a jungle.
With all the ruts and washouts from past rains the logging roads at the property I hunt can be a challenge towing a tractor on a trailer with implements.
On my 18 ft trailer I fit a box blade up front and my 50 hp tractor with a 6 ft shredder. I don’t have a disc, use my box blade for my small food plots.
Our roads dry up quick and we have lots of sand, but in the spots we have clay after a rain it can it can be tricky and seems to never dry out in some spots. I’ve puckered up more than once getting to one of my spots. I have a good place to park the drive my tractor to my other spots.
I bet I’m not the only one having to 4 wheel drive in with tractor and trailer.
Thanks, Billy

I've driven on County roads outside San Augustine after a rain. 'Cant imagine pulling a load. I'd wrap it all around a tree in the 1st quarter mile.

I used to hunt in Upshur County and a lot of the the roads were RED CLAY. If it had rained in the previous couple of days you had to have 4 wheel drive to get anywhere. I can't imagine the stories the school bus drivers have to tell.
