No that’s what the big stink was. They basically said Archery pressure was preventing conceptions.....

So they upped Bear tags and put those units on archery draw, but all the units had left over tags. I can see a slight decrease in pressure just based of guys like me that may run up there last minute, but not significant amount unless they decrease tags YoY.

I am not a biologist but I would be ok with them going to draw across the board because of how crowded it has gotten.

I did notice a increase in bear tags that were issued

I don’t think they lowered tag numbers enough to make a difference personally but I’m headed up in a few and will see

Thats's where I hunt! What season were you looking to hunt? I can likely get you landowner tags.

Oh also anyone hunting in CO this year, remember CO now has a tire chain law....

Make sure you have a set. It’s cheaper to buy on Amazon and return then get the fine.

??? do you have a link or something???

you reminded me of one of my early on elk/MD hunting trips with my father in law ... due to some issues, we ended up taking his truck at the last minute, which was 2 wheel drive, so he gathered up chains, like 5-6 sets since he didn't know for sure which ones fit that truck. Got to a slick spot in NF, tried to put on chains, and none of the 5-6 sets of chains were big enough for the tires.

Some of the new trucks have front clearance issues So be careful putting on the front.

Best thing is go to tirechains.com or peerlesschain.com and put in your tire info. I prefer cam locks and spider bungee for chains, and for cables I would only buy super z HD

What's you have parts number you can shop Amazon

No, only when they invoke, unless you are a commercial driver then yes

3 laws-One is for commercial drives Mandatory from Sept to May and have to have them all times

Now the other two... these other two can be invoked at any time based on weather.

Passenger Traction Law-
The passenger traction law requires two-wheel drive passenger vehicles to have all weather or mud and snow rated tires with adequate tread or to affix chains or alternate traction devices (ATDs). Four/all-wheel drive vehicles must have all drive wheels engaged and tires with adequate tread depth.

Passenger Vehicle Chain Law -
The Passenger Vehicle Chain Law imposes the most restrictive requirements during inclement weather. All passenger vehicles must have chains or alternate traction devices (ATDs) on two or more drive tires. This applies to every two/four/all-wheel drive passenger vehicle in the effected area.

Last week southern Co got a foot of snow, I’m sure a few of the passes had chain law in effect.

I know on i-70 they have fixed signs for chains, other roads I have seen the portable signs designating chain requirements, or they just gate the whole road off. New rules don't seem to much more strengent. I know many run studded tires over winter.

It's those "pop-up" blizzard like conditions that seemed to catch me under the gun. came accross one year from Pagosa Springs going home outside Montrose, million dollar mile was almost a no go starting about 20 miles S of Silverton. If I hadent been behind a semi, I never would have made it. Followed his tail lights and tracks at around 5-10 mph

Ahh crap. Something else I'll never use. But, I guess, thanks for reminding us. 'Already have a brand-new pair of pack boots that I've had over a decade that have never come out of the box. I've never experienced a game animal that makes you accumulate more "what if" gear like Cervus canadensis nelsoni.
