Did you scout the spot prior to hauling gear in there?

See y’all around the campfire.

Earlier in the week. It's not a place you can scout easily.

north texas teal is a crap shoot, figured you would know this, drag down south for consistent teal.

I always laugh when I see "guided" teal hunts up there

Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post

Several years ago I put about 2 to 3k teal to bed got there the next morning and saw four. Teal are always here today gone tomorrow scouting them really doesn't even do that much good. I'm going blind in the morning probably see zero.

I know. Just frustrated after walking my hiney off and face planting in knee deep water. I've never hunted there before without doing well. I hope it's not a taste of what the season holds in store.

I'm reading reports along the coast that they have lost alot of there birds. I'm going tomorrow to a spot I hunted Tuesday and saw all of 5 birds. I'm really hoping this little front brings some more birds down.

Good luck

I'm hitting the RR in the morning. I'm hoping tomorrow makes up for today.

Was at a ranch in S Tx at the end of last season. Spent quite a bit of time speaking with the manager that had worked with a federal biologist as part of a tracking project. They put transmitters on 12 teal in southern Arkansas one afternoon. The next morning, 9 were in Mexico and 3 were in the El Campo area.

I promise you that it will get better.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I hunted Friday morning and scouted 3 different lakes, didn’t see one teal. Even found lots of duckweed. Coffee and camping was good though. Not hunting this morning, gonna have breakfast with Mom.

Are you not afraid of the raffia catching fire on the motor?

It doesn’t touch anything hot, like the muffler or piston head.

On the way home, stop at road side fruit stand to get my mom tomatoes her favorite, it goes like this...

Fruit-stand Lady: You got hay on your boat.
Me: No ma’am, that’s not real hay, I hope a cow does not ever try and eat it.
Fruit-stand Lady: Oh that is camouflage.
Me: yes ma’am...
Fruit-stand Lady: Yeah, them fish are real smart.
Me: No ma’am that’s for ducks. roflmao
