I sold tons of leg 1/4`s, but I wouldn`t eat one on a bet. The cheapest I can remember selling them for was for .19¢ lb.

I read that book. One of the best novels ever.

Even better than the TV series.

When we first got married my wife ate chicken with a knife and fork and would leave a lot of meat on the bone. It didn't take long to teach her how to eat chicken properly.

She was born a yankee. Now, she's 100% Texan.

My wife is born in bred Texas she still don't clean a chicken thigh properly. I end up picking it when she's done.

I showed my wife how to twist the end of the leg bone right out of a thigh leaving all the meat hanging off the sliver of pelvis. She's upped her game considerably smile

Speaking of chicken thighs, all this talk about chicken made me hungry for some yard bird so I picked up a 10 piece dark from the local fried chicken shack. $10 a box including hot rolls, I can't cook it that cheap. And it sure is good.

Leg quarters are not the cheapest part of the chicken. Many markets and bait shops carry chickened necks for crab bait. I use a crab net while training bird dogs. Look closely at the bottom of this picture and you can see a bob white quail under the net. I consider my dogs broke when they will hold point for a struggling quail.
