We got here in the middle of March and with all that was going on and everything we had to do, I missed the window for planting veggies. However, I have plenty of time now to prepare for the forthcoming season. I like growing various and sundry veggies, especially big, fat tomatoes, but my heart is in peppers. I discovered a pepper called the New Mexico Chili. I started researching it and discovered two sites that sell seeds of peppers I never heard of. chile.nmsu.edu/seeds chileseedusa.com/ Back in Virginia, earliest set date is May 15th. Here in Yoakum, I can set out 1st of March. If all goes (hopefully) well, I'm going to try growing 10 to 12 different varieties.

Also, check out Pepper Joe's website. Pepper JoeI've ordered a lot of different seeds from these guys in the past, and they were all good quality with high germination rates.

I had forgotten about them, that's a good site. You ever tried Carolina reapers? God a'mighty! Those things are downright DANGEROUS!

You can cut them back and get a second growth in the fall.

It’s taken a few months to get to where I can handle numerous habaneros. I can’t imagine reapers being an enjoyable experience. Still, I must try one though.

You can cut them back and get a second growth in the fall. No need to cut 'em. They'll continue to bloom and fruit until a freeze kills 'em. Coupla' years ago, I spoke with a guy in South Florida. He's got plants that are six feet high and five years old that are (were at the time) still producing fruit.

DO NOT do this unless there's someone around to call medical help for you. There are records of people that have DIED from ODing on the Capsaicum. The SHU rating of CRs can go as high as 2.2 MILLION. You think I'm jokin'... Jump on it, bad boy. Them sunny beaches will put you in the ER and I mean RFN.
