My great grandfather Miller from Lafayette used to eat this meal every day of his 90+ year life and he is still one of the physically strongest men I’ve ever known, till the last day. I know it’s a hard one to look at or even fathom but it really is good, so before ya say anything. . . remember how much this dumb meal means to me. His was just raw oats, honey, peanut butter with milk. I added raisins and nanners tonight because that’s what we had. His other go-to was cornbread+Steens molasses+PB+milk. Fact is. . . . I need to make cornbread more around here.

Different for sure, but I've had stranger combos for breakfast before. My niece was a vegetarian, and also an Olympic-class swimmer. She lived on peanut butter and diced onion sandwiches, and all sorts of grain meals. Never hurt her!!!

You had me until I saw the milk being poured. I'd blow the barn door off its hinges if I drink milk. However, I would probably mix it up and eat without the milk and flush it down with warm coffee.

Used to make an energy "cookies" using rolled oats, honey, coconut flakes, ground flax seed and peanut butter.

1 cup oatmeal
½ cup peanut butter
⅓ cup honey
1 cup coconut flakes
½ cup ground flaxseed
Mix well and refrigerate for an hour. then roll in to small balls and flatten. Store in the refrigerator.

I usually omitted the coconut flakes, but added a small amount of chopped peanuts. In the winter added chocolate chips, make a mess in the summer.

We do the same thing. Might even be the exact same recipe. It's tough not to destroy the whole container because they're so good.

I eat Oatmeal Mon-Fri with cinnamon blueberries and 2% milk. I like the sound of most of the ingredients in there up Is it a little chewy?

I have a neighbor who uses oatmeal in meatloaf instead of breadcrumbs.

What my Mom does.

Add a some water and powdered milk. It will make the meatloaf more moist.

Most nights that I or my wife don't care to cook I have:

Raw 1 minute quick oats in a short glass---about 1/2 cup oats
Puritan's Pride Whey Concentrate Protein Powder, or Nestles Quick if out of protein powder.
Enough milk to get it all good and wet.

I have Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter to one side, Jiff if we're out of natural

I rotate bites of the two.

Depending on how hungry I am I will ad oatmeal or milk.

I've been doing this for years and it is great!!!!

Since we once in a while cook oatmeal we keep both quick oats and regular oatmeal. I like the traditional raw about as well.

Looks great. I'm a big fan of oats or granola, yogurt, and fruit everyday for breakfast or dinner. May have to try your recipe.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.
