There’s a nephew here to pig hunt. Shoots an AR10 in 308. We checked his zero yesterday (and fixed it) and I scrounged up the brass. I looked to see what it was, and it’s Perfecta. Never heard of it. His rifle shoots it well, so I can’t badmouth it. Should I keep this stuff or dump it? These days I hate to throw away brass if it has potential life left.

The DPMS AR10 is one heavy danged rifle.

The 223 Perfecta brass I've seen has random flash holes, hard on decapping pins. I scrapped what I had. Never throw away brass. A 5 gallon bucket weighs in excess of 38#. At $1.40 /#..........

Perfecta is Fiocchi made so should be usable

I got some in a mixed bag of 45 acp it seems to be decent at least in the 45 acp..
I’d load it at least once especially for range and plinking ammo

I pulled a couple from the vibratory tumbler just now. The brass looks decent, and it has that annealed look that Lapua has around the neck and shoulder. I’ll hold on to it.

I had a lot of trouble with primers blowing it off it in a DPMS 308. My loads aren't hot at all, and I don't have that problem with any other headstamp.

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

The nephew visiting is shooting a DPMS 308. I didn’t see any flattened or bulged primers on the once fired brass. I’m pretty sure that factory loads are hotter than what I load in the grandson’s bolt 308. That said, this brass will likely spend the next decade in my extra brass ammo cans, since I use Nosler brass for the grandson’s rifle.
