At calling ducks? With the season approaching, lets have some fun. Tonight I ran across this video I made about 10 years back of me "trying" to run a duck call. (I wasn't very good and haven't improved much since, LOL). JJ was probably the best we had back then (RIP), but I would love to see what kind of talent THF has now. So here's my challenge... film or record yourself and lets hear what you got! Do you have the guts??? Only rules to this this thread are you can't dog those of us who aren't very good. I'm hoping we can get some different styles and learn how to get better from some of you who know what you're doing. So get outside your comfort zone and lets have some fun.

This is about all I have, so I don't do to much calling while out in the blind...

That's pretty funny, I remember when you posted that years ago. Not bad calling at all I don't think, I have never been a good caller myself. I'm decent, and don't call much, less calling is better most of the time.

Ok, I like this. Let's see some video.

I'll already put myself in the bottom non contender category. I can quack, but after that I just did not put in the time.

But who will take the THF Trophy?

Oh come on Guy... I’d figure you of all people could run a call purty dang good....You’re full of hot air roflmao I kid I kid. Nothing but love for you man. Truth be told, I don’t call much either. Maybe a little feed chuckle and simple quacks when they are not facing me.

I hunted with a guy from California who was real good at it. He would call them all the way in... even when they were cupped and committed he was calling. And it worked like a charm. I guess I always heard/thought that would make them flair and I just don’t have the confidence to try it.

The only way this thread gets fun is if you play along.

It is fun when they want to be called to the water they'll land right on top of that call too.

Was standing in Mack’s Prairie Wings a few years ago (lived in AR at the time) and heard someone wailing on a call. It honestly sounded like what you hear in the national contest. We walked over to see what was going on, and this grade-school age kid was trying out a new call. He was 100X better than I was on my best day. No contest for me...

Yes and no. Competition calling is about controlling your call. Making your call do what it's supposed to do.

On the second line just because someone is a competition caller doesn't mean they are any good at it. Like me and bass fishing.

I know two guys that dabbled in comp when they were younger. Both can do things with their calls I can't and kill ducks doing it. I can't bounce a call to.save my life.

I know what your saying Jeremy. My cousin is on staff with Echo and has won state in Arkansas several times and gone pretty far in Worlds. He's pretty damn good at both. But hunted with others in Arkansas that are a little over aggressive sometimes, which sometimes comp callers will do. Ive seen them staright up Ric Flair ducks when calling.

Sounds like a challenge. Old mlf style same boat. (Clearly because I'm poor and don't have a boat) 100 bucks. I buy gas.

I'd like it noted that sinkey is clearly scared of my challenge.
