This buck was in velvet on the morning of the 13th when I took some pics of him. By 11pm that night he had stripped the velvet off.

He came in right before sunrise and ate a little corn.

When he left he went back the same trail he had came in to the feeder on. Some does had left on the same trail earlier. He left the trail and went the same direction and I noticed he stopped.

I did get 1" on the 10th and then .20" yesterday afternoon late. Cloud cover and no 100+ deg days it greened up nicely.

As usual great pics but l must ask....Out of all the recent pics, do you have any 2020 shooters identified? Would be interested to know if you have any deer that have made your list and What the look like.

Love this classic pose. Perfect photo for Outdoor Life deer hunting article. You definitely have a side gig if you want it.

I second this motion.

I have seen 6 bucks that I would hunt for archery season that I like so far. Here are the top 2 bucks I like from that list and I will wait till I have seen both up close while hunting to make a choice. Both are 5x5 with one extra NT point. I always pick one buck and concentrate on him for the season. I have seen both of these two buck in the last week but not at close range yet....25 yards or less will tell me which one I want to shoot. Of course anything new that shows up in the next month will factor into what I hunt for from that point forward.

The others in the order I would hunt them later in the season if the others have been killed or missing:

I spent all last archery and general season holding out for this buck. I did see him one evening in late archery season but the closest he got was 55 yards to me that evening. Had trail cam pics of him the next morning within minutes of me getting to the blind...never seen him or had anymore trail cam pics of him again. I am not even sure if he is alive but if he were to show up on trail cams I would make him my number one target buck...but my odds of winning the lotto are better I think at this point.

That Goliad County browse certainly must be nutritious.

Great pics once again stxr!!
I love seeing that lip curl but can't believe they are already getting the urge.

Glad you finally go a little bit of rain down there. It's truly amazing how that country responds so well with such little moisture. Your area is one of my favorite places in the state for sure.

I love that 5x5 with small kicker on his right G2. Great looking deer and also that big 8 that rubbed out in the first pics.
The deer with small drop tine from last year is a stud!!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
