I had a bit of an epic failure with my CDI bottom metal on my Savage rifle. There is a flat piece of steel that holds/releases the magazine, see attached pictures. It's spring loaded and held in place with a roll pin. Ihave the roll pin This flat piece broke right at the hole that holds it in with a roll pin. I lost the spring and the piece.
I'm hoping someone has a CDI bottom metal. If someone does happen to have one, can I get the length x width x thickness dimensions of this plate/tab? I'm going to make a prototype out of Aluminum before attempting to make one out of steel. I have some dimensions for a starting point but would like to see it should be With no mill, this is gonna be a challenge.
Many thanks, kind sir. That info is truly valuable to me right now. Ugh, no. I will once i gain the ability to grow a mustache like you. Hasn't happened in the last 38yrs.
QSYB, i wanted to but I had heard about the gentlemen who was making them. I actually spoke to his wife years ago and had a lovely conversation where she eventually called me back offering to inlet my stock for free. Soon after, they started listing it on their website. Wasnt sure if it would have been in poor taste so decided against it contacting them about a failure.
Edit: I love this freakin forum. Good info and random good humor.

They did my Model 70, both were great (talked to them both on the phone). He sent me a single-load block free of charge because he had a small hiccup with my order. I would have measured mine for you when I went home at lunch but FJG nailed it before I left.
