I have some wonderful memories dove hunting with my pops and grandpa, and I’ve been looking forward to making similar memories with my son.
He’s been hunting with me since he was 2, and I almost never hunt or fish without him, but I’ve been pretty cautious about putting a shotgun in his hands. This year, at 9 years old, he put a youth model 1100 20 gauge to work (one shell at a time) and managed to knock a few down. We have an area where the white wing pour in this time of year, so it made for pretty good training ground. He
was quite proud of himself. I can’t wait to see what he can do this weekend when I turn him loose on the morning dove.
