Not mine, thank goodness. I was in Europe on Merger and Acquisition work years back. I was with a team of guys, one of which was a good buddy. We had a layover weekend in London, so Bob and I went shopping for a gift for our wives. I don’t remember what I got for my wife, but Bob bought a very expensive Painted china plate for his wife. Said she’d been collecting them for years. After the trip was over and we were back in Houston, I remembered to ask Bob how his wife liked the plate. He looked kind of green and said he gave it to her, wrapped up all fancy, and she opened it and held it in her hands, looked him in the eyes and said “it was your first wife that collected plates”. He said he almost threw up. His present wife hated his first wife.

Bob said “I don’t know what to do about this”. I told him, “Bob, all you can do now is to try to buy your way out of this, and it’s gonna cost you”.

Man, it would have chilled my blood to hear my wife say “it was your first wife...”.

No good deed goes unpunished.

I spent some time working in Israel, on a project that helped their energy independence tremendously..... wanted to surprise my wife with a gift that she couldn't find anywhere else on the planet. She liked bulky cosmetic jewelry so I went hunting. I drove all over the Country and talked to (or tried to) lots of folks. Ordered custom stuff. Had it made & wasn't cheap.

Flew home and tried to surprise her with it. It was a necklace and earrings made with small red corral and pearls from the Mediterranean Sea . She didn't like it and said she couldn't wear it.

I shook it off, kinda. That was $3,500. of jewelry.

The next time a woman wants jewelry from me we're going to Wal-Mart. At least there you can get your money back when things don't work out.

Early in our marriage, sometimes during a heated argument , a synapse in my brain wouldn't fire right or something and my first wife's name would come out of my mouth. The correct name has now been tattooed on my chest for 25 years and it hasn't happened since I got it. grin

I'm saving it for my baby girl. Kids appreciate things, sometimes.

She says the shotgun kicks too much right now (6 yrs old).

She said she just wants to be the bird dog again. And she just wants the eyeballs, beaks, and feet. Ok.

Thank you, she's my Buddy.

Wish she wasn't a night owl like me, but she is...

Everyone in the house is asleep....but not her...she's awake and looking at me. roflmao

After cashing out of my first legal binding contract I have not made that mistake again. Played house a few times since but have been careful about that. Now I live alone and entertain if the mood strikes. No problems no regrets. Life is easy.

One of my wife’s favorite sayings when I’m telling a story or reminiscing about old times is “ wrong wife “

Which is funny because All the good times and reminisceable stories I have took place when my first wife wasn’t around

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Sneaky is spot on again here. Still married to my first wife. Pretty sure there never will be a second. This guy created his own issues.

Your friend had what I call hoof and mouth disease.

"Your friend had what I call hoof and mouth disease"

And I guess you have never said something or typed something stupid.

"That’s one of the problems with having more than one wife."

Some women should not be married, they do not know how to behave and stay faithful.

Divorces are so expensive, but they are worth it.

Reminds me about 25 years ago as a financial analyst, my cube mate was this gal, she was tough as nails and she for sure wore the pants in her family. Well her husband, in the dog house, sent her a dozen beautiful roses. After the delivery guy left, she reads the card, throws the card in the trash, opens her top draw and slams it shut. Then grabs the flowers like she wants to throw them away. I say "wow wait a sec, whats wrong?" She said "I can't believe he wasted money on these stupuid flowers!". I said "but those are real nice, don't throw them away", she said "You want them?". I said "well, huh, sure."

As soon as a get home, open the door, my wife was right there, saw the flowers in my hand and lite up like a popsicle, "Are those for me? Whats the occasion?" I said "huh...I was just thinking about you nothing special", that was a good night.
