We have had quite a bit of rain lately. Which is probably good. But, I suspect it will make it hard for bow buck hunters next month. Everything has greened up nicely which means there are lots of natural groceries. The other problem will be the older bucks will not have to move far from the bedding areas on those ranches with canyons of any size. They are going to have food and water both in the bed room.

When I was guiding, we had a couple of seasons like this where it extended into November in gun season even. I hope I'm wrong.

I bet the ranchers are thankful for the rain.

You bet. The lake is still super low. But in about a week that whole area is gonna look purple everywhere because the sage will be blooming. The creek about a mile west of the house has running water in it for the first time in about 6 or 7 years. It won't last long, because it will soak in, or evaporate pretty quickly. It's nice to see though.

Hoping the heavy rains this year have came late enough to lessen the chances of anthrax. Landowner said we received around 5 inches of rain last week
