It’s nothing so bad as showing the neighbor lady my Mini Zach... she’s about 70, it would be a toss up if she’d keel over or decide to risk the prison time.

It’s more of, I’ve been working a lot to get some things done and she’s been stuck with the kids for an extended amount of time with no adult interaction.

I just wanted to spring for something nice for her, as she deserves it. I think the silent treatment has been more of her being wore out from chasing crib midgets and needs to decompress when I get home.

Weekend getaway sans children. Find somewhere that has a day spa for her and take her out at night, or fix a nice dinner for her. Cabin in Broken bow, New Mexico, Hot Springs, beach house on Padre, etc. That’s what I’d do.

I am no professional counselor, but if she is wore out, give her rest. Sounds like she may just want you to prioritize her and the family instead of work.

Take her out. Or be the stay at home dad and let her go out, take a break for a weekend, or just get some alone time. My wife asks me to leave the house every night for an hour after our kid is down (I productively walk the dogs), so she can just sit on the couch and zone out and relax with nothing around her. Or she goes on a walk alone to get fresh air and relax. The restorative power for her energy and psyche of that hour alone is great.

What is her love language? Giving a gift may not even be the correct solution to show her how you really feel.
