Looks like bachelor groups should be breaking up soon. I thought they were eating when I looked at the first pic, then I saw the second which made it more obvious.

Watched two bucks who came in together eat corn yesterday morning that stood side x side for about 45 minutes. One walked off then later the other followed a few minutes later. I could see them in open areas sparring for about 5 minutes. It is pretty common this time of the year for bucks of all ages to "test" each other out. Not really fighting but sparring. They set their dominance place in the herd that way I think. Some of the mature to post mature bucks won't spar much at all. The two bucks I saw were both in the 4+ yr old to mature age class. Most of the times when I have seen them spar it usually a very young buck with an older buck...not two mature bucks. The evening before I watched a buck that I did not have on trail cams walk into the road corn around the feeder and immediately 2 of the mature bucks postured up to him and walked him around the area. He was a 4 or 5 yr old buck also..just not been around them when they were all out of velvet this year I think. Cooler weather gets them amped up a bit more also.
