Finally drew my first archery tag for Benbrook lake this year. I have 10/1-10/14. Does anyone have any pointers? I’d greatly appreciate them.

I have never been to that location but that time of year, Thermacell and Permethrin are on my list for being in the woods when skeeters and ticks are out

Thank you. I think that holds true for the entire state during bow season.

I'd just like some general info on how to enter etc. My wife and I haul our horses out to Benbrook all the time, so combining a riding/hunting/camping trip would be kinda cool

I lived in west Fort Worth over 30 years and fished Benbrook a lot, always saw deer around the lake. There use to be a junkyard on 377 at the river the deer would move thru, then head east along the river all the way to the south end of Holiday park. I'd focus on that area. Or maybe Richardson Slough on the other side of the lake. Use to see turkey pretty regularly at Rocky Creek park. Dont know of many other areas around the lake that still allow hunting.
