I went with the Vortex Crossfire, mainly because of the 50,000 battery life, and most reviews I read preferred it over the other budget options.

I'm certainly far from it. That said, I've tried about 3 variations of cheaper red dots, roughly in the $50 range, and they have all crapped out and got tossed. i can't even remember the brands anymore. I'm still a sucker for trying cheaper alternatives.
The cheapest I think I'd go i were looking for one to rely upon, then I'd get a Holosun. Otherwise, I really like the Trijicon MRO we have. I like the the size and the intermediate "off" positions around the the #3 brightness setting. The published battery life is what also attracted me. I leave mine on the whole time, even in the safe.

Every crimson trace product I’ve had and owned has been 100% reliable..

May be worth a look

I’ve got a brand new in box EOTECH 512. Really good dot because it has a 68 MOA ring around a 2 MOA dot. Similar to the Holosun 510. I’d sell it.

ROMEO is here and mounted, probably won't sight it in until Monday. It's the perfect height for my flip up sights, bright crisp red do. If it works as well as I hope I'm getting two more, one for the PC Carbine and one for the 10-22.

You'll like it. I was going to buy a PC Carbine to move mine to but the China Flu cancelled (or at least postponed) that idea.
