Ouch. I made a bird hunting trip up north with some friends. A pointer pointed a long way off. Two hunters kicked it up a notch. They had the dog on the ground picking out needles when I got there

They are bad news for dogs.
But they always seem so calm when I come up on one. They just waddle on back to where they came from.
They are not good to eat. The old rumor that the quills are protecting some delicious meat, is so wrong.

They are cool critters but after seeing what the do you dogs I’ve got no love for them.

After seeing what they can do to a tree, I have no love either. Killed one last year and glad we did.
