Ouch. I made a bird hunting trip up north with some friends. A pointer pointed a long way off. Two hunters kicked it up a notch. They had the dog on the ground picking out needles when I got there

They are bad news for dogs. But they always seem so calm when I come up on one. They just waddle on back to where they came from. They are not good to eat. The old rumor that the quills are protecting some delicious meat, is so wrong.

After seeing what they can do to a tree, I have no love either. Killed one last year and glad we did.

The one I killed and ate was rather tasty Yeah, but they've gotta be one of the worst smelling animals on the outside.
