I live in KS and drive to SD twice each season to hunt public. So that answers your question as to where I'd go.

Wild birds, definitely S.Dak.....Kansas lost up to 90% of their pheasant population several years ago from drought (Dodge City area, not sure about north central or northwest areas). Some of the birds have come back but still not a good population for hunting. On a good note, in the ‘comeback’ a bunch more quail have shown up around Dodge. YES, birds are real spotty, Dodge City got 7" of rain in July, that might help or hurt
hold on Newt, we got a runaway

Bill's right, but they are an "uppity" bunch over there. I went with Biggins in Gregory, SD last November. Good hunt. PM me if you want more details. Have fun, wherever you choose. i referred Creekrunner to Biggins for last year and I think he had a great hunt. I know when I went with them years back the hunting was good, varied terrain, good eats and decent accomodations. Has both wild and released birds so birds is not a problems. Thousands of acres, good trucks, dogs, guides and lots of food piled high. I'd love to go back
