Left Texas it was 102 degrees. Left Colorado it was 25 degrees and snowing.

No deer this time ( shot at a small 3x3 I really didn’t want to kill, arrow hit a limb and deflected and I’m ok with that) but did see my first two moose, a big bear and some beautiful country.

Forest fire ran us out about a week early, then broke a leaf spring on the RV that left us stranded on the side of the road for another night. Right as we were installing a new leaf the snow started coming down. Snowed all thr way to Raton then rained from Amarillo back to SA.

Based on the terrain you must have not spent enough time glassing to not find a decent buck in that country... bolt
Nice pics and beautiful country.

Any trip to Colorado is a good trim as far as I am concerned. Too bad about the breakdown but your back now and ushered some cold weather back with you.

Can’t believe you got to see and photograph the moose up there. What a trip.

This is my 5,000 post and I can think of nothing better than commenting on a hunter in Colorado. It is truly God's country.
Thank you for sharing the photos and information about your trip. I spend a lot of time in Colorado around Pagosa Springs.
I've seen one Moose, several dozen Big Horn Sheep, many bears, hundreds of deer and elk. If you are a hunter, you owe it to yourself
to make at least one trip to Colorado. Even if you don't come back with an animal, you will come back with a smile.

Cabin rental in Pagosa Springs, Co.
Sleeps 10, If interested please PM me.

We had some trail cams out and caught this guy. I believe we saw him he was below the moose a few hundred yards

Thanks for sharing but why would take a shot an animal that you did not want to kill? This type comment just hurts us all as hunters.

Great pictures. Sorry about the bad luck.

LOL, just leave out the 'I really didn't want to kill' part for the trolls and keep the stories coming

Looks like the leaves haven't turned yet. I'm going up the end of next week. I bet the cold weather will get the colors started. Nice pics.
