At the tennis court, getting near the end of practice, and the sky to the south looks dark and gloomy. The coach was asking me if I thought it would rain, when one of the kids said “Mom says it’s raining at the Chick Fil A truck”. Well, we all know exactly where that truck is parked (a mile south of us), and we only have the one truck and only on Tuesday. In the big city you’d wonder which truck.

There’s a Chick-fil-A truck???? I think Colonel Sanders is using these trucks to bootleg his chicken into areas where there is no Chick Fil A.

Funny how you can size a town by them having a DQ, Sonic, Chicken Express and/or Subway My 1 light hometown got its first fast food restaurant when I was in the 8th grade, a McDonalds. When I left town 10 years later that was still the only one. We did have tennis courts and 2 gold courses though. 1200 people in town, 2000 in the township. Trump will speak there Thursday. I saw Reagan speak there when I was 10

I guess the truck comes from Waco. It does different small towns one day each. We get Tuesdays. There’s also a poisonous taco truck there one day a week. You do NOT want their taco. Trust me.
Groesbeck is a small town, being about 2000+ folks. AAA school. The tennis tradition goes back 30 years or more. I’m very happy to be a tiny part of continuing that tradition.
I measure the level of civilization of a town by the available chain type food available. Level 1 is Dairy Queen. Level 2 is Sonic. Level 3 is Subway. Level 4 is McDonalds. We have a Sonic, a Subway, a Bush’s Chicken. DQ went down a year ago, and that’s where the Chick Fil A truck sets up.
I grew up in small town America in Louisiana and now here I am in Texas, and happy.

Rhome has a pretty good DQ, Chicken X and Giant Burger. Plus one bad food truck and one bad Mexican drive thru restaurant. We’re thinking about moving to the country. Getting citified round here...

DQ is the only thing here. There are tennis courts at the HS and a crappy little nine hole course. No Chic Filet Truck.
