We practice the art of medicine. For the best ones, it’s an art. For the bad ones it is simply practicing the science behind medicine. For the scammers it is a business.

LOL, as in they are "practicing" on people. I'd rather they practice on someone else before my turn.

Well technically every treatment is a well reasoned “practice” based upon what has worked in the past on other people.
Despite what everyone thinks, every human is different and responds to different meds/treatments differently.

So if you want perfection, you gonna have to wait a long time.

Doesn’t bother me. I’m basically practicing the job I do, and theirs is far more complicated. I do try to avoid them, but when I am forced to use their services, I’m quite thankful that they have as much practice as they do.

I agree it is an art for the best, I've had experience with bad ones and they were not even following current science. I guess I can't really think of a better name but "practice" can have a different meaning. I am totally thankful for the good ones!

I guess this was meant to be a joke. If it is, work on your delivery. We’ve all been there. Takes practice, so to speak. If it’s not meant to be a joke, then good luck explaining that.

If patients would bring the same variables, i.e. weight, height, prescription drugs (and non prescription drugs), medical history, family history, reaction to drugs, alcohol use, surgical history, etc... it would not be a 'PRACTICE'.

I understand that fully. What about a Dr. that uses an outdated surgical procedure instead of the currently accepted procedure resulting in multiple surgeries to correct the problem? I admire the good ones but have been burned by the bad ones. Currently have 5 opinions on a problem, 2 say major surgery needed, 3 say no way anywhere near that point. I guess I am just ranting due to those past experiences.

Sure. When someone can prove that they work, then they’re proven.

Outdated = didn't work and caused more surgeries to repair vs. currently accepted = fixed it first time but due to several major surgeries caused severe nerve damage. The Dr. that did the last surgery could not believe the way the first surgeries were done, said it was very old school.
