Give it two months, and you will find them all over the place....including the deer bellies..

I have them in Wood Co. My oak and sassafras are losing some leaves.

Not trying to be a smart azz, but what you have pictured is a member of the red oak family, and burr oak is a white oak.

You may call that a burr oak, but it isn’t.

General rule of thumb: red oak has pointy leaves, white oaks have rounded leaves. Red oaks produce every year, with some years being bumper crops but they are less desirable for wildlife due to high tannin content that takes a while to diminish once on the ground. White oaks produce usually every other year and are highly desired by wildlife once in the ground.
