Headed out a fur piece this past weekend. Basically a head to Presidio, turn right and just keep on driving event. Dragging a trailer loaded with gear, that there last 16 miles took an hour and 45 minutes. Got there in time to see some absolutely spectacular views. The next three days we put on thirty miles a day carefully, very carefully plugging away. Saw lots of the place, but nowhere near all of it. Made some walking treks and obviously, I am still living. Some big county, might big country. These photos do not, in any way provide justice to the experience. Btw, the kitty cats are all okay.

Mountains, canyons, gorges, unusual & unique features. Saw where Black Jack shot at Pancho. What a place. You'd a thunk I was in a National park or sumthin.

Horse head, alligator head? Putting this photo in perspective, I believe it is 16-20 feet from the ground to the "eye".



This "wall" was straight as could be and was built by God. Our best masons would have issues recreating it. Standing there off the road in the middle of absolutely nowhere, it was dadgum awesome sight.




Not sure how worthy I am, but darn sure fortunate. Humbled here.

I tried to catch an Audaddy for ya' Just couldn't get close enuff to jump on or even lasso one. They display an amazing ability to climb straight up stuff I would need a helicopter to ascend.

When a man gets too full of himself that's the kind of country he needs to see,just to be there to feel it,makes all this other crap seem so insignificant

That is beautiful and rugged country. Sadly, most Texans don't know that it exists. I am betting the the ranch to the North or NE is the Livingston Ranch. I have spent a few days there in the past and rode a little Government mule over some of the mountains and places so rugged that the ranch hands built trails. I also spent a few days on the Cibolo Creek Ranch when we were shooting a TV show for TTHA several years ago.
Seeing your photos makes me think that it's about time I went back.
