I suspect if this goes through there won't be troopers working in place of APD. I assume DPS will take over operations and keep the APD officers already there. The way I understand this is it would simply take the funding decisions away from the Austin city council and APD and put it in the hands of DPS.

If the city of Austin keeps prosecutorial duties, it won't make much of a difference.

The Austin Municipal court decides the lowest level criminal offenses in the state of Texas, including traffic, city ordinance, juvenile, and disabled parking. Traffic tickets and such.

The real crimes are done in county and above courts, again, the real crimes is the responsibility of Travis county.

I'm upset that as a non-citizen of Austin, my tax dollars are now going to go to police Austin.

If they want it to be a hell hole, and voted for it to be a hell hole, let it be a hell hole.

We should move the capital back to Washington on the Brazos, and let Austin implode in itself.

thats the plan. They knew they lost this election four years back . Their only hope is push a civil war so they can slither away as they usually do. There is some really screwed up stuff going on that the media is not showing you. They are not showing you the chaos in the streets in places like NYC and other places. One of the trump supporters that was shot and killed last week was shot by a team working together, of about ten people.
