Downloaded the cam today ahead of Tuesday's scheduled 4 day bear hunt. This is my target:
To give you an idea of his head and paw size the opening he has his beak in is 14 inches high.
Little better view of his mitts:
Barrel is closer to the camera in this shot so it makes him look a little smaller but for reference the bottom of the barrel is 40 inches off the ground.
He is mostly on the bait at night but every 3 days or so he comes in around 7 pm for 20 or 30 minutes. Pretty sure he does a complete circle every time he comes in as the videos show he never comes from a consistent direction. This is in contrast to the other 7 or 8 bears hitting the bait who 90% of the time come from the same direction. My primary spot is 70 yards out compared to the spring hunt when i was 35 yards out and he busted me 3 different times. I am also 16 feet higher than the spring (28 feet versus 12 feet in the spring). Hopefully the changes and playing the wind will work. If not i will take one of the other 3 average shooters on the last day (if they present).
No idea what he weighs but pretty sure the solo drag to the boat, loading into the boat and than into the truck is gonna be a challenge but pretty sure i can make it work (if i am lucky enough to get him). If not i have cavalry i can call if necessary (no cell service but i have a satellite texter).
